About
Built by King Rama V in the late 1890s on the northern edge of Rattanakosin, the Dusit Palace grounds still anchor the royal government quarter. Key buildings open to visitors include the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (when not hosting state events) and the Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall. Vimanmek Mansion — the world's largest golden teakwood building — also sits on the grounds.
Best time to visit
Cooler mornings, 8–10am.
Tips
Strict dress code applies inside throne halls: long trousers, covered shoulders. Much of the wider park is free to stroll if you enter from Ratchawithi Rd.
